Back in May the Calgary Kart Racing Club held a celebrity enduro race to raise money for STARS Air Ambulance.  Alert readers will remember that your intrepid reporter was a driver in the race and lasted a grand total of five laps before breaking a rib taking a corner too fast.  Wednesday, junior drivers and club members gathered to present the STARS crew with a cheque for more than $4,000. Beautiful weather, fast race karts and lots of fun combined in the perfect recipe for the Calgary Race Kart Club’s first ever charity event to benefit the STARS Air Ambulance.  A number of local dignitaries teamed with kart club racers for an endurance race that tested the rookie’s driving skills and mettle.  Piloting a race kart at speeds up to 70 mph for a couple of hours may be exhilirating, but it’s also exhausting.
