The Calgary Buffaloes had a rough time Wednesday night with the Red Deer Rebels at the Acadia Recreation Centre.  The Buffs came out looking to play a solid game and gain some momentum heading into the AMHL playoffs.

The game didn’t start well for the Buffaloes as they were down 3-1 after 20 minutes. The Rebels outscored the Buffs 2-1 in the second period. The buffs came out flying in the third period but couldn’t solve the Rebel goaltender.

The game got physical in the final few minutes as emotions ran high. Tanner Marshall of the Buffaloes dropped the gloves and received a game misconduct for his efforts.

The Buffs were without head coach James Poole who was serving a suspension.

After the game forward Brett Pinder said the teams effort was there last night, but they couldn’t burry any chances. Pinder added that the Buffaloes could not let the loss bring them down before the playoffs begin.

The Buffs will now finish off their regular season play on Sunday afternoon against Grand Prairie.  They have clinched a playoff spot and still have a chance for second place and a first round bye.

Buffaloes Scoring:

1.  #18 Brett Pinder

2.  #17 Sam Firoetti
