From November 8 to November 14, there were 45 reported crimes in District 8, with car prowling being the most common. Break and enters were up and the Calgary Police Service is warning homeowners to remember to lock their doors and windows.

On Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the victim was sitting in his vehicle which was parked at the Flying J Truck Stop at 11511 40 St. S.E., when a vehicle pulled up beside him. A man from the vehicle approached the victim and asked if he could help him and his friend fix their car. When the victim stated that he could not help, the man then demanded money.
The offender and the victim then went inside the truck stop to the ATM machine. The victim flagged a staff member inside the business stating that he was being robbed. The offender then fled the truck stop and was seen entering a dark-coloured SUV.
The first suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 25 to 30 years of age, and approximately 5’6” tall. He had a blonde beard and was wearing a black hooded jacket and dark-coloured pants.
The second suspect, the driver of the offending vehicle, is a black male with fair skin, approximately 25 to 30 years of age. He had black, curly hair and was wearing a black hat and brown jacket.
