The McKenzie Towne farmer's market was hopping Thursday afternoon
Looking for fresh veggies or maybe a funky gift for that special person? If you live in the “deep south” you’re not far from the McKenzie Towne farmer’s market, which runs every Thursday in the summer from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 in the parking lot of the Towne Hall.
The market features 20 full-time vendors and almost the same number of part-timers. Naturally, Hutterite farmers have brought their fresh vegetables. What would a market be without these fine folk?
Many of the vendors are familiar from other markets. Tim’s Gourmet Pizzas is a regular at Millarville Saturday morning and his pizza samples are always in high demand.

The parking lot is awash in booths and people – there are kids as far as the eye can see. Towne Hall events coordinator Dionne Dillabaugh says almost a thousand people usually come out.
This past Thursday was Children’s day at the market. Kids and their parents were lined up at the bouncer. The funny guy with the big hat couldn’t make balloon animals fast enough, though it seemed like every child had one or two tucked under their arm.
