Hundreds of McKenzie Lake residents lined the streets Saturday morning for the McKenzie Frenzy annual parade. Like any good parade, this one featured a marching band, bagpipe music, local businesses and politicians, laughing children, mascots with funny costumes, policemen on horses, a town crier, a crazy Scotsman, dancing girls, soccer players and possibly even a kitchen sink.
The weather cooperated, with beautiful blue skies and warm temperatures. SE Calgarians tired of the long winter and mostly wet, cold spring responded with shorts and t-shirts galore.
The parade started at the Beach Club, wound its way west to McKenzie Lake Bldv. to the accompaniment of the Stetson Marching Band and the Ogden Legion Pipe Band, through the community where people brought out their lawn chairs and clapped and waved to the paraders, and ended back at the club, site of the Frenzy festivities that occupied the rest of a gorgeous Saturday.
