Homes in the SE and NW were raided Wednesday and four people have been charged with a variety of drug and weapons offences. The bust was the result of a five-week long investigation by the Calgary Police Service into a cocaine trafficking and manufacturing operation. Members of the District 4 Special Duties Team conducted the investigation, which resulted in the execution of two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants at a residence in the 1700 block of 47 Street S.E. and another in the 100 block of Hidden Ranch Close N.W.
Each of the homes contained cocaine conversion labs, which are used to convert cocaine base to crack cocaine. Almost two kilograms of cocaine, with a street value of $183,620, was seized.
A total of four people were charged with 36 CDSA and Criminal Code charges.
Lisa NGUYEN, 25, of Calgary, has been charged with production of cocaine, possession of property obtained by crime, and five firearms-related offences.

Your “facts” are wrong and it is sad to see a trusted newspaper print whatever lies are fed to them with no regard for the very people who turn to you for information.
The city was desperate for a “bust” in order to quell the demand for something to be done in the face of rising gang and drug related violence.
Now because of some new gang-related policy Ryan Li is being held for manufactured charges while ignoring the proof that shows his innocence.
It is great that Calgary wants to respond to the rise in crime. Destroying the lives of falsely imprisoned citizens as well as those around him is not the answer. Stop wasting time and taxes fabricating evidence just because you can’t provide real solutions.
Please please please dig deeper and print the truth. I know it’s a lot to ask, but it’s what you’re expected to do.
It is unnerving to see that a major Canadian city such as Calgary is carrying out witch hunts backed by its newspaper companies.
I also have baking soda, baggies, mixing bowls and rice cooking pots in my home.
Is there more to this story, or are we to settle back now and believe that the bad guys are gone? I guess it’s a good thing that bad guys never have families or loved ones or else I bet they’d be feeling pretty wretched right about now.
Doesn’t anybody see that you are just hearding cattle before the corral has been built? People are getting years more for selling and/or using drugs than they are for raping women and little children. Ask yourself this question..”If you had to chose between your 4 year old daughter getting raped and beaten or your 16 year old son willingly buying some cocaine…what would you choose? Based on your answer, would you prefer the police were finding as many ways possible to stop pedophiles and rapists. Or to stop the people who are making money supplying a way for the women who were raped as little girls and use drugs to numb their pain. Capitolizing on peoples pain and misfortune is aweful…but tell that to funeral homes, shrinks, lawyers, doctors, politicians…and welll, everybody. But perhaps if we stop the little girls of today from becomming the crack ‘prostitutes’ of tomorrow by preventing pain, they may not search for a way to numb it. Then dealing will not be profitible, and dealers will cease to exsist…maybe? But what do I know, I’m just a crackhead. (But then again…the world is flat and columbus is crazy right? I’m kind of hoping that the world has evolved enough to try listening to me before I die. Seems most anybody who ever did anything amazing was known as crazy until they died…then they were loved, missed and listened to)
